First, let me confirm the description and pictures are 100% accurate. If anything, they understate the elegance and quality of the property. The owners clearly care about making the experience top-tier and succeed in every way. One of our favorite aspects of the property is not even shown or highlighted in the description – we found a wonderful outdoor BBQ that became the center of many evenings during our two week stay. The pool, patio and accommodation – while fairly depicted – exceeded our expectations (larger, nicer and better maintained than the pictures suggest!!) The intangibles are a bit harder to express. While a car is essential, given the relative remoteness of the villa – after a couple of days we figured out that 100% of everything we need (food, wine, bread etc.) could be found in the local village – a short 5 min. drive away. And again.. the intangibles of the village are hard to describe.. After a couple of days (and the very generous introduction of the owner of us to EVERYONE in the village) we felt like family – not tourists – in a great little greek village (LARDOS). When we didn’t use the outdoor kitchen, we spent our evenings in the village restaurants having whatever speciality the owners happened to cook for their family and friends that evening. If you are looking for a beautiful, traditional, quiet villa – with an owner that absolutely cares about your group having a wonderful vacation – this is the villa for you.
Having read some of the reviews before we travelled out I was extremely excited about our stay but it is safe to say my expectations were exceeded on every level! The villa is superb with stunning views and a fantastic pool, our every need was catered for by Lisa & Tsampikos the owners who made sure that our stay was as comfortable and ran as smoothly as possible. The villa was always immaculate and exactly as shown and described in the tripadvisor page as well as the website. The beach is only two steps from your pool and the the resort of Kiotari, which has plenty of great restaurants, cafes, and a few bars is only 10 minutes walking. The locals are all really friendly and there are plenty of activities and trips on offer (I can recommend WaterPark, the FISHING adventure, and the boat trip to the Symi Island. I stayed with a group of six family members that included young children, a teenager, adults, and a slightly older relative (who hopefully isn’t reading this) and we all had an amazing time. We are already saving our pennies and planning the next trip!
We stayed at Villa Kiotari during September 2014 The villa itself was spotless and thoughtfully decorated and equipped, but something you really can’t put a price on is the views. On one side, the fullgreen mountain and the other the Aegean with the pool and BBQ areas having an EXCEPTIONAL view. My highlight was definitely having breakfast on the terrace taking in the beautiful view in the sun. We had a fabulous time at Villa Kiotari and really appreciated the little extras that you provide – the photos on the internet are good but when we arrived there we realised the villa was even better than we had anticipated! Lardos is a few minutes drive and had everything you need from fresh fish market to large supermarkets, so you get the seclusion of the villa with the convenience of local amenities! The owners were well-prepared for children and babies with cot and bedding/highchair etc. Villa Kiotari is a real find and we will definatelly go back. What else can you do when your 5 and 7 yo daughters keep asking to get them back there and stay a bit longer this time?
We stay in June 2014 at Villa Kiotari with my husband and two daughters (15 and 22) -the latter had their own bedrooms (one messy, one tidy!). The house was very easy to use and everything worked. I’m a keen cook so the kitchen was important and we used it a lot -in fact the meals in and out were a great feature of the holiday, both in romantic environments, one over-looking Kiotari Bay and the others at the edge of the sea. Lots of fresh vegetables and meat. People were really helpful -from Aphrodite at the supermarket helping me find ingredient to the avuncular Spiros at Pefkos beach boat hire, relaxed, warm and confident in himself. Boating around the coast, nosing into quiet beaches, finding tavernas at the water’s edge and snorkeling in the clear warm waters -just what we all needed. The pool was a restful place -chilling out, reading- though the water was never quite cold enough for me! It was very hot, well above average temperatures but in the house the air contitions helped us stay cool. The house is direct on the beach and the view is amazing specially on Sunrise !!! Very Romantic!!! It is one of the most beautiful houses we ever stay and the host Tsampikos was very helpful in everything we ask!! He also book table for us every night in the best restaurants around !!! We hope that we will come back soon!
We spent 4 wonderful days in Villa Lahania in April 2016, which is definitely a place to return one day. Before we found Villa Lahania, we were looking quite a lot to find a spacious villa with your own entrance to the beach (and private beach) and private pool for reasonable money. And we found Villa Lahania! We were four . We occupied 2 of the 3 bedrooms on the second floor, which was enough for us; the territory around the villa and the pool would be enough for a much wider group. The villa is stylish and good equipped and settled. Nice thing is your private open kitchen with the fire place which we used almost every day to cook meat and fish (we bought fish in the fish shop (they call it market) in Lardos, which is in 20 minute drive from the villa). Tsampikos, who met us, was very nice and helped us a lot with our lost luggage and other things. What we liked the most is that there was literally NO ONE around on the beach as far as you can see (though worth mentioning a nice Mojito bar approx. 300 meters away on the beach). The beach is clean and all yours (same as your private pool). At the same time you do not feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, as there is the mentioned Mojito bar and Genadi village in 5 minute drive and lots of other nice places a bit further. Strawberry mojito in the Mojito bar is a must; you must definitely try it! It is not at all a mojito, but the barman puts the full glass of rum into the meshed strawberries. We tried a few tavernas and restaurants around, but Number 1 is tavern Stefano’s in Kiotari on the beach — very very nice place, perfect service, delicious food and all quite simple and cozy; the waiter (and co-owner) always gave us some small gifts (like free fruit desert, bottle of homemade olive oil). Another nice place (also recommended by Tsampikos) is tavern Platanos in Lahania village – very simple but food was delicious. We will be back one day! Amis
The house is beautiful and clean, nice garden and pool (very romantic at night), but the most fantastic thing is to have the beach just in front of the house! We lived 2 weeks wearing swimsuit all day, went out only to buy food and relaxed the rest of the time. It is the perfect place if you like to spend an holiday relaxing with family and children, out of chaos and stress. I loved to have my breakfast watching the sea! The owner Manolis was really kind and helpfull. Thanks for everything, it was a fantastic holiday, hope to come back one day!
One of the best house we have ever been!! Brand new direct on the beach!! We have fantastic time! The house was very clean with excellent maid service. The beds incredibly comfortable, the beach very quiet perfect for families with children owners were very welcoming. Helped us to book a table at some fantastic restaurants with amazing Greek food and fresh fish. We have Great time. I think I will never forget this house. We loved it and will return. Thank you Tsampiko were all amazing
We now stay in Villa Lahania. We are a family of 4 with 2 young boys (6 and 8). The villa is wonderfully spacious, with spectacular views across the sea that you never tire of. There is plenty of space for children to play inside when they have had enough of the wonderful pool, the bedrooms are extremely comfortable and the kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need. We ate outside several times, but inside is a large dining room table to eat at or play cards etc. but we preferring to sit on the front terrace nearer the sea. We love Gennadi beach a lot, which is great for children and people watching, and we ate out many times in the waterfront tavernasin Kiotari one of my favourite things was that all of the restaurants are literally on the water. The beach at Glystra is worth a visit but best of all was the shopping and harbour at Rhodes Town. We also thoroughly enjoyed a speedboat trip from Gennadi Beach that takes you around the caves in the area and gives you the opportunity to snorkel and jump from the boat into the crystal clear water.(Rhodes Concierge Serviice Team free with the house) Elisavet was very helpful answering all my questions promptly and thoroughly and giving lots of useful information. We would wholeheartedly recommend this villa to anyone wanting to experience the beauty of Rhodes and a marvellous holiday home. Thank you Tsampikos , we will certainly consider returning, (smiley) Yaron and Family
